Reporting to the Associate Dean for Student Wellness, this position serves as the primary administrator and budget authority for the Offices of Disability Services and Testing Services. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Verify and review all requests for disability accommodations
Interpret confidential psycho-educational and other disability-related documentation and make recommendations for accommodations
Maintain confidential student files
Monitor, adjust, and evaluate individual accommodation plans for students with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, psychological disorders, and other conditions based on student self-report, individual documentation, functional needs, and abilities
Provide personal growth and equipment/technology needs for students registered for services
Recruit, hire, and supervise student assistants to provide transcription, note taking, and other services to students with disabilities
Serve as a liaison between students with disabilities and faculty/staff
Provide assessment and evaluation of the Disability Services Program and make recommendations for improvement
Provide assessment and evaluation of the Testing Services Program and make recommendations for improvement
Oversee the daily operations of the Testing Center including administration of college admission tests, college credit tests, professional school admissions tests, occupational certification tests, and other tests.
Ensure the highest quality testing experience for students and others interacting with Testing Services
Ensure institutional compliance with secure testing protocols
Supervise Testing Services staff

Master’s degree in an appropriate area within student affairs
Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with psychological, physical or learning disabilities
Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, special education, psychology, higher education administration, college student personnel or counseling
Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)
Experience as a Coordinator/Director of Disability Services and/or Testing Services at a college or university
Strong working knowledge of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2009, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and other federal and state laws pertaining to higher education and disability services
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, faculty, and staff from a broad range of programs and disciplines
Ability to mediate conflict and advocate for students
Dedication to creating a collaborative and creative work environment
Ability to manage multiple projects
Detail oriented and the ability to prioritize
Willingness to collaborate and contribute in a team environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and the willingness to learn the campus computer software for student information and other administrative systems
